CONCESSION FOR BUENOS AIRES METRO NETWORK & PREMETRO

Columbus Infrastructure (“Columbus”) has advised RATP Dev on the international tender for the Concession of Buenos Aires (Argentina) Metro Network and Premetro.

RATP Dev, Keolis Group and local operator Metrovias, have submitted formal offers for the 12-year concession to operate the Buenos Aires metro network .

The concession consists on the operation and maintenance of the public over-ground and underground rail transport services of the City of Buenos Aires (SUBTE) for a period of 12 years with a potential extension for 3 additional years. The metro comprises six lines totalling 55km plus a 7.4km pre-metro LRT line.

The Buenos Aires contract is potentially worth about $3.5bn over 12 years.

Columbus has acted as transaction advisor and bid manager for RATP Dev during the tender process, identifying key risks and advising the Client on strategic tender decisions, financial modelling and valuation, advisors & stakeholder’s management, contracts negotiation and value creation throughout the concession period.

Alongside Columbus, Baker&McKenzie acted as legal advisor and Ernst&Young as tax advisor.
